Here are some of my favorite newborn poses that I incorporate during the photoshoot:

The Huck Finn: 

This sweet pose involves having your baby lie on their back and turning their head gently to one side. It’s a great pose for capturing their newborn curly-ness from the womb and those tiny toes! I use props like headbands, bonnets, and hats to add variety and highlight details.

Bum Up:

The Bum Up pose is a popular pose in newborn photography that aims to capture the charming back rolls and the signature curled shape of a newborn baby. It is often combined with an above viewpoint photo to accentuate the baby’s cute features and offer another perspective.

 

Side Lying:

Capturing the newborn nestled on their side highlights the precious roundness of their tiny head, the softness of their delicate new skin, and the sweet curled-up shape of their limbs. This pose accentuates the newborn phase and parents love it.

 

Chin on Hands:

This pose is perfect for showcasing the newborn’s tiny fingers and capturing their facial features as their chin rests gently on their hands. Sometimes called Womb Pose, the Taco Pose is a popular newborn photography pose where the baby is gently curled into a fetal position which mimics the position they were in the womb. This pose emphasizes the newborn’s delicate features and creates heartwarming images. It is an adorable pose that babies love.

 

Awake Baby:

The awake pose captures the baby in a relaxed and alert state, emphasizing their bright eyes and expressions.
