My custom styled newborn portrait sessions are tailored to create a seamless experience for you and your family. From start to finish, I’m here to answer any questions you may have. I provide all of my clients with a comprehensive Preparation Guide, which includes helpful tips on when to feed your baby and more. You will never be left in the dark.

Being consistent, transparent, and predictable are all important qualities to me when hiring a creative professional, and I structure my client experience around those values. When hiring a photographer for my own family, I always look for a consistent portfolio that matches my own personal aesthetic. That is why I strive to give each client a consistent, quality set of images in their gallery with a variety of poses and setups using a posing workflow that I have developed after specializing in posed newborn photography for the past ten years. This workflow provides clients with a predictable and consistent variety of poses and setups that they can count on. These setups are always custom styled to meet your taste and preferences via my Client Questionnaire where clients get to choose props, color themes, and more.

Creating a relaxed environment for your baby is also important to me. Parents get to sit back and relax while I take care of all the details for them. From soothing, to dressing, and sometimes even feeding, I take care of everything, making your baby’s first photo session easy and calm. As a mother myself, I believe in giving each baby the same tender care I would if I were caring for my own baby. With an eye for detail and extensive experience in photographing newborn babies, I create newborn portraits that will be cherished for years to come.

Haley’s style

I love to use soft colors and a variety of natural elements and textures, keeping the focus on your precious baby. In each set up, we will discuss which outfits you’d like, and I will work with baby to give you a wide variety of images for your gallery. I give clients a mix of traditional portraits, intimate detail shots, and warm, candid views that capture this special moment. Each image in your gallery is hand-edited creatively to the finest detail. When clients see their photos, the feedback I hear most is that they want to keep looking at them over and over again.

I rarely do highly themed newborn sessions such as batman theme. This can date your photos, as such themes may not always be of interest years from now. I prefer to keep things timeless so that years from now you will look back at your photos and love them just as much, if not more, than the first time you saw them. With that said, I do love incorporating items for clients to personalize their session if they want to bring a family heirloom such as a wedding veil or grand mother’s pearls. I have a curated collection of newborn props, outfits and accessories that are specially selected to highlight your newborn’s delicate features. With each newborn session, clients receive personalized styling, perfecting each little pose to individual hand editing, making sure that you, your family, and your new baby look absolutely amazing.

Your experience with me will be simple, relaxed, and easy. From personalized styling to perfecting each little pose, all of the little details will be taken care of for you. I strive to create a calm and peaceful environment during our time together. The comfort and safety of all of my clients (big and small) is always one of my top priorities.

Additionally, I am fully certified through the National Association of Professional Child & Newborn Photographers. I have trained along some of The Nation’s leading Newborn Photographers. My work has been chosen to be featured in various online mediums, and I have been voted as one of The Best Newborn Photographers in Austin, Texas.

Scheduling

It’s never too early to book your newborn session! I only book a limited number of sessions per month to maintain the highest quality of service to my clients. When you book a newborn session, you will be in my calendar with a variable session date based on your due date. This insures my availability, as I will already be expecting your baby because their session had already been reserved. When booking, it is best to book your session while you are still expecting. I book a limited number of sessions per month.

 

how long will your session last?

Newborn photography sessions generally last around two to three hours, although I do also offer a Petite Newborn Package, which is one hour. During the newborn session, there is plenty of time for nursing, soothing, and lots of cuddles. These sessions are delicate, and I patiently take the time to perfect each pose. With my gentle, detailed approach and my ten years of experience in photographing newborns, I am consistently able to create stunning newborn photo galleries within that timeframe.

The Studio

Upon entering my home-studio, you will find an elaborate array of handmade newborn outfits, including hats, headbands, wraps, furs, blankets, and much more. My prop collection consists of nearly every color you could ask for. I have furs, knits, and woven materials of all colors and textures. I have bowls, baskets, buckets, and vintage items all carefully selected for their simplicity, uniqueness, and how they complement your baby and their tiny features. My in-home studio is located just inside of Cedar Park, near Anderson Mill and 620 minutes from Austin. It is fully equipped with everything to keep your newborn baby calm, comfortable, and happy, all while creating gorgeous images. There is even behind-the-scenes seating for Mom and Dad for cozy lounging while you relax and enjoy watching your baby’s first photo session.

I offer fine-art newborn portraits in my Austin newborn photography home-studio. Working in my home-studio allows me to photograph in a controlled environment with the perfect lighting and room temperature that are so important to the success of a newborn session. This also keeps your baby comfortable throughout their first photo session. My home studio session focuses on posed newborn portraits, although I am always happy to capture newborn-focused family portraits as well.

what to wear

Clothing is a key element for beautiful, timeless portraits. I have my own selection of blankets, wraps, bonnets, and dainty headbands for your newborn. Clients do not need to worry about purchasing newborn props or bringing anything like that to their session. For the newborn baby, I have everything covered. For parents and siblings, I recommend simple, classic apparel that reflects your style. Art takes time!  But rest assured, it’s worth the wait.  For every minute we spend together, I spend hundreds more behind the scenes to make your portraits and overall experience exceptional. Following your Newborn Portrait Session, I carefully compare the hundreds of images from your session to select the best ones from each concept based on facial expressions, posing, lighting, sharpness, background, and overall appeal. These selected images are all delivered to you in your selection gallery, where you get to choose your favorite photos. Then each photo you select is individually processed and enhanced into a true work of art via hand-edits performed by me. You will receive your private online gallery of beautifully edited newborn and family portraits within 3–4 weeks of your session to download and share your newborn photos with family and friends. Of course, I do offer professional print services for heirloom quality products such as baby albums, birth announcements, canvases, gallery walls, and more,
