WHEN DO NEWBORN SESSIONS TAKE PLACE?
Newborn sessions are held between 5-14 days. This is done for many reasons. This is when newborn babies sleep the most, and still have their amazing flexibility which allow for those adorable positions. Almost all of the “sleepy newborn” shots you see here on the website were done with newborns 8-11 days old. If your baby is older than 2 weeks, don’t worry, I can still capture beautiful photos of your baby – it may just take more effort on both ends and we may need to skip some of the poses you see.
HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION WHEN I’M NOT SURE
WHEN BABY WILL BE BORN?
That’s easy… Contact me as soon as you can! CLICK HERE & I will get your name on my calendar based your due date. This guarantees a spot on my calendar. Then, all you will need to do is send me a quick email or text once baby arrives, and we will set the specific date and time. As a mother myself, I know how things can often get busy. That is why I have a simple one step booking process.
I only book a certain number of Newborns each month in order to maintain the highest quality of services for my clients. These slots do fill up very quickly; That is why, if you are thinking about booking, the best time to contact me is now. CLICK HERE to contact me and reserve your baby’s spot.
HOW LONG DOES A SESSION LAST?
Your baby’s comfort and safety is my number one priority. With that being said, most of my sessions last 3 hours. Newborn sessions are special in that they often run longer than a typical photo session due to the nature and frequent nurturing of the infant. I always plan on taking mommy breaks for feeding, changing, and snuggling. Rest assured in knowing that I plan that in! Also, newborns love being warm and cozy! My studio will be a warm and comforting environment with white noise to help them sleep. I am extremely comfortable working with newborns, and dedicate much of my training in this area. Even parents have fallen asleep at my studio — it is that soothing 🙂 .
CAN I BRING SOMETHING SPECIAL LIKE A FAMILY HEIRLOOM
TO INCLUDE IN THE SESSION?
Yes! If you want, bring a little something to incorporate in the session, but it is not necessary as I have everything we need here.
WHERE DOES THE NEWBORN SESSION TAKE PLACE?
Newborn Sessions take place at my in-home studio located just inside of Cedar Park near Anderson Mill and 620. (Baby Milestones can either take place at an outdoor location of your choice or at my in-home studio. Maternity take place at an outdoor location of your choice.)
DO YOU INCLUDE ALL OF THE ADORABLE PROPS I SEE ON YOUR WEBSITE?
Absolutely! All of the buckets, baskets, furs, hats, bonnets, outfits, wraps, equipment, etc. are included in my newborn sessions. I have everything setup here for your little one, and you are always more than welcome to look through my prop selection and pick items you’d like to incorporate during your session. I do everything I can to make your experience as easy as possible so that all you will need to do is bring your baby.
CAN SIBLINGS AND PARENTS BE IN A FEW SHOTS?
Of course! I always include this option for families as I feel it is so important. When your little one is older, they will want to see what you all looked like together when they were a baby. I do sibling photos first to allow them to leave with another family member. The session does last a few hours and little ones tend to get restless having to wait around (my little one would too!).
ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD BRING?
A “soothie” pacifier-the greenish kind they have in hospitals. These are GOLD in keeping them asleep! Once you book, I will send you a full detailed information kit with everything you’ll need for session date.
